MAP testing process enhancements

MAP Process Enhancements

In 2025, OSG is enhancing our processes for MAP Testing in response to stakeholder feedback.

The enhancements include:

  • reducing the number of annual testing windows from three per year to two, to reduce conflict with curriculum exams and allow more time between tests to facilitate student growth
  • including MAP growth information in students’ bi-annual Academic Reports, to highlight and increase focus on their achievement and growth in Mathematics, Reading and Language Usage, benchmarked against 13+ million other students globally
  • introducing IXL, a comprehensive learning programme offering MAP-aligned Study Plans with unlimited practice across thousands of skills.
Key dates

The next MAP testing windows under OSG’s new bi-annual cadence will begin in August/September 2025 per hemisphere. More information will be shared in your campus communications, along with key dates for IXL introduction.

The important role of the OSG parent with MAP testing

Please be aware of the new testing windows as shared above, and support your child in preparing with them for the next testing window, using IXL and any other tools suggested by his/her educator.

Please take an interest in your child’s results, as they are important measures of their achievements and growth benchmarked against other students.
